Hi everyone! It’s the weekend at last – huzzah!!
This is my second (third – see the Made With Love Blog Hop post below!) post of the day. To see my latest card in my 14 Days of Valentine’s Cards series just click here or scroll down. 🙂
Well, Day 9 of the Clean & Simple Card Making 2 class focused on ways to add texture to your projects whilst still keeping them clean and simple:
I opted to use a dry embossing technique with an impression plate. Here are the results:
I have to admit I’m crushin’ on this card just a bit! I love how bright and bold and fun and colourful it is!
I started with a panel of Stamper’s Select White cardstock and decided to emboss it with the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate. However before doing so I used a trick of tapping ink onto the plate before embossing.
This was the perfect opportunity to dig out my Hero Arts Neon inks again!! I embossed this panel a total of three times, once for each of my inkpads (pink, yellow and orange) and am super thrilled with the results!!
As there is already a lot of colour and texture on this card the final details were to stamp the image from Think Big Favourites #23 set using Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossing with Clear Filigree embossing powder.
Finally I added the little heart to the centre, using my Simon Says Stamps Mini Heart Set dies to die cut the heart from Stamper’s Select White cardstock, tapping it into my Versafine inkpad, and then heat embossing clear a couple of times then adhering to the panel using Pinflair Glue Gel.
I mounted the panel onto my white card base and I was all done!
Well, I don’t know about you but I am *so* ready for the weekend! Lots of crafting planned again, so I hope to be bringing you a lot of eye candy!
Thanks so much for stopping by – let’s get the weekend started!
Perfect use of this technique!! Love how it looks bright even though there is so much white space, due to the intense neons. And so excited I have those inks and the IP! Thanks for showin' me another trick : )
Absolutely brilliant card Taheera so you can gush on it as much as you want! Those colours, wow, just amazing! Thanks for coming to visit my blog the other day!
LOVE the background and design! I must study hard as to how you did it…lovely card all around!
The background is cool and trendy! Love it. I too have used neons on my texture card but it is totally different:)
I have a crush too on this card. Period. 😉
This is so awesome!! I inked up that same impression plate a few months ago on one of my Runway cards, but it didn't look THIS cool! The neon puts it over the top…I'm in love with this card!! 🙂
Love it! And I totally have this plate too (only because Joscie is awesome). I am going to have to give this a try!
