Hey everyone!
I’m back again today with a quick hello card. Well, quick for me anyway! Even if I am making what ends up being a simple card it can take me ages as I’m ‘thinking’ through the process at every step!!
So here’s today’s card:
Well I have to admit to chickening out on using a bright paper, but I’m really happy with the result. :o)
I started with a Vintage Cream card base and completely covered it with one of the papers from Crate Paper’s Paper Heart collection. God I {heart} this line! It’s so fun!! I edged the paper with VintageTouch Tea Dye Duo to add some vintageness to it.
I then stamped the large bouquet from Lace Bouquet using Kraft ink. These are two of my latest favourites and I’m having trouble putting them down! I then added one of the chipboard pieces from the Paper Heart Collection at the top left. Part of the adhesive area hangs off the edges so I back this with some Vintage Cream cardstock which I trimmed to shape.
I love the little accents at the bottom right! Started with some yellow and aqua pom-pom trims, added a tiny bit of colour to the aqua using some Glimmer Mist, before adhering them together with a little Scor Tape. I used my Tiny Attacher to secure to the card base – something I should use more I think as I love it!
Next came that heart border. I created some custom washi tape using Scor Tape and tissue paper, die cut it with the Heart Border Die and them stamped it with Mehndi Medallion using Berry Sorbet ink. I also tapped it all over with VintageTouch Chamomile ink to age it. I then tore one end before adhering on top of the trim, hiding the tiny staples – but not before adding a thin strip of custom washi tape stamped with the houndstooth stamp from Glitz Designs Distressing 2. I then added a couple more Tiny Attacher staples for a fun little accent.
Finally I added the ‘hello’ word from Authentique’s Uncommon Diction word stickers, seemed like the perfect match for my card.
And that’s me! I’d love to know what you think of this card. Are you enjoying my exploration of different styles and techniques? I’d love to hear from you!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
ACK! So sweet and pretty! I love it all, but especially how you stamped the heart border with the Mehndi Medallion set…. brilliant way to add some interest to a small die-cut! I must remember that. 🙂 Please check out my blog, there's an award there for you. 🙂
So beautiful Taheerah! I love the way you angled the hearts…beautiful. 🙂
So pretty. Love the neutral color of the stamped lace and then the pops of color and I love all the hearts!
Super pretty, T! I love the stamped hearts on the heart border diecut as a banner!
So unique, Taheerah! I love the dangling hearts…that's a wonderful touch! 🙂
