Hey everyone, how are you all doing?
I must apologise for this post going up later than planned. My internet is playing up at home so it’s been rather difficult being able to post! Ah well, better late than never I guess!
So some of you may know that my debut project for Gel-à-Tins went Live on Saturday. If you missed the post you can find it here. Please stop by and show your support for all the Gel-à-Tinas!
So for my debut project I worked with the fantastic Chevron-Tastic set. This is definitely my most favourite set to use, not least because I suggested the name! ;o)
Chevrons are so on trend at the moment, and this new set from Gel-à-Tins totally embraces that! I can see myself using this set over and over – expect lots of projects from me using it!! The chevrons are of different sizes and plenty of them can nuzzle right in with each other on the stamp block so you can stamp a whole pattern in no time!
So for my first project I decided to make a funky gift tag:
Pretty cool huh?! I just love how fun and modern it is!
I started by die-cutting a Tag Sale #6 tag from Stamper’s Select White cardstock. I then stamped one of the chevron patterns using Melon Berry, Harvest Gold, Smokey Shadow (old) and Autumn Rose inks. I let a couple of the chevrons cross each other for visual interest, and also used some generational stamping to give some paler chevrons. I also added a couple on the vertical to change things up a bit! Those were stamped with Melon Berry, Smokey Shadow (new) and Harvest Gold.
I then added the sentiment from Framed Out #2 using Versafine Onyx Black. I added some dew drops to accent the colours. Finally I die-cut the frame from Stamper’s Select White cardstock using the Framed Out #2 die, sprayed it with spray adhesive and coated it in Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, before adhering the frame using Pinflair Glue Gel.
Just check out that ribbon treatment! I picked a May Arts ribbon that would co-ordinate perfectly and tied it in a different way than normal, then added some Harvest Gold Satin Ribbon, then finally added some May Arts twine so the tag could be attached to a cute little gift bag or a fun package. Speaking of which, I finally put my Front and Centre #1 die to use on some Stamper’s Select White cardstock and some patterned paper from Glitz, to create this little gift bag:
I am so in love with this little bag and the tag goes so well with it! Here’s another close-up of that gorgeous tag:
