Hey everyone! Thanks for
joining me here again today!!
It’s the last 12 hours left of voting for Gallery Idol!! I’m so sorry to keep bombarding you with requests to vote. It’s just that it means so much to me. Thank you for putting up with me, and if you haven’t voted yet and aren’t sick of me I would truly appreciate your vote!!
Right, back to business!! Today I’m sharing another project that was posted on the Gel-à-Tins blog the other week. I’m so glad to finally have caught up on my own blog too!!
When I got my Honey Bear stamp set from Gel-à-Tins I just couldn’t get over how
cute that little bear was! All I could think was how he’d be perfect for a baby
project. So that’s what I set about making! It’s always fun to try and find
different uses for your stamps isn’t it?!
I settled on the idea of a baby bib and card gift set. I’ve wanted to try
stamping on fabric for ages and now seemed like the perfect time!
I wanted to keep the gift set gender neutral so I settled on a colour palette
of browns and creams:
How cute is that?! Doesn’t
that little bear work perfectly for a baby project?!
I started by taking a used,
washed bib and stamping the bear in Dark Chocolate (old formula) ink. I found that to stamp well on
fabric using quite a bit of pressure and keeping the stamp on the fabric longer
than you would on cardstock helped transfer the image well and give good
results. You may need to stamp the image twice as well, but that’s what’s great
about the clear stamps from Gel-à-Tins – they make that process so easy!!
After stamping my little
bear I coloured him with some Copic markers. I wanted to keep the design simple
so all that was needed to finish off was a cute sentiment from Half Pint Heroines from WaltzingMouse Stamps and some hearts from Simply Valentine. So adorable!!
I didn’t stop there and
created a cute little card to accompany the set:
I used that adorable little
bear again and kept the design fairly CAS, using a Rustic White card base accenting only with some patterned
paper from Simple Stories and Kraft Twill Ribbon and a sentiment from Baby Button Bits.
No gift set is complete
without some cute packaging! I set about creating a little clear gift bag,
embellished with glitter and adorned with a matching bear tag!
I am so super-proud of this gift bag!! I created it using the Front & Centre #1 die, cutting two shapes from Clear Cardstock, then fashioned the rest of it by hand-cutting one of my old PTI stamp boxes!! Some Scor Tape to hold in place, and some additional Scor Tape strips coated in Martha Stewart Glitter to hide the tape and there you have it!!
The tag was created using the Tag Sale #5 die, cutting first from Rustic White cardstock and then Simple Stories patterned paper. I die cut some of the Doily Details dies using paper from the same collection, folded them and adhered them on top of each other using Pinflair Glue Gel, I added a Tiny Tags die cut accented with the sentiment from Fillable Frames #5 and more hearts from Simply Valentine, using Fine Linen and Kraft inks. All topped of course with that little bear – doesn’t he look all cute
and perfect?
Here’s the set all packaged
up, all ready to give to a lucky recipient:
I’d love to hear what you
think about this cutie little set!! Do you ever find some fun alternative uses
for your sets? I’d love to hear about it!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Utterly adorable, T! Brilliant thinking on that clear gift bag–the scor-tape/glitter idea is perfect for hiding the construction! What a sweet bear image (and stuffed bear). He looks unexpected, yet so charming in your neutral palette!
This is absolutely adorable. And, good luck with the idol challenge, too.
what a sweet little gift set that I am sure will be loved
Ohhhh my, what a cute set! I am in love with that bib!
This is really an adorable set. The light brown and cream colours are not typical baby colours, but they look perfect for this set! I've never stamped on fabric before, but you've got me thinking of some projects!! Did you have to heat set it after you stamped? Thanks for all the fun ideas!
