Hello everyone! Happy Saturday!
Today is my penultimate day off before starting back at work on Monday. Guess I had better make the most of the remaining time and get crafty!
My last few cards have been pretty CAS, and while that is all well and good, I was feeling the need to make something that felt a bit more familiar for me:
What do you think? I think it’s quite funky!
I started with a Vintage Cream card base. I tore some strips of Eclipse Masking Tape roughly and adhered them to the edges, then proceeded to stamp the card front with the woodgrain panel from Waltzingmouse Stamps’ Woodgrain set. Gosh I love this set! I used A:Muse Bermuda ink and then inked the edges with VintageTouch Chamomile ink before removing the masking tape.
Then to jazz that panel up! I used Fine Linen and Kraft inks to add some patterns from the Desktop Inspiration stamp set. I then stamped the large chevrons from the Woodgrain set using a mix of Fine Linen and Kraft inks. I can’t believe I didn’t think I’d get any use out of the rest of the stamps in this set – I love that large chunky chevron!
Next I added some stars from the Military Stars set, using Fine Linen for the star on the base, Kraft for the smaller stars on the base, and Aqua Mist and Kraft inks for the larger stars, I used some October Afternoon Cake Walk Flower Sack shapes to pop just below the stars, the text one being cut using the Notched Flower dies first and being inked with Chamomile ink. I also die cut one of the notched flowers from cardstock and stamped it with an image from Military Stars. These were all adhered to the base with Pinflair Glue Gel. I then added the negative die cut of the text circle to the base as well to create more balance.
The sentiment is made up from the WPlus9 So 80s set (you guys *know* how much I love this set!) and from the Studio Calico Epic set. I masked the sentiment to stamp just ‘This’ and then again to turn the this into an ‘Is’. I used a mix of Kraft and SU! Soft Suede inks for the sentiments. And that’s pretty much all there is to it!
Well, I guess I better head off and try and get some more cards done! Thank you so much for stopping by – I’d love to know what you think of this little creation!
Claire highlighted this on FB, and I just had to come and say how FABULOUS I think this card is!! Your collage is unbelievable!! LOVE it!!
What a soft, cool mix of patterns and stamps. This is: Awesome! 🙂

Fabulous! It's great to see you posting regularly T 🙂 xxx
Great card! I love how you did the masking and how you build up layers of stamping!
Hi Taheera, I think this is the style that I've fallen in love with 🙂 I would say you are either a "Shabby Chic" or "Freestyle Collage". And you are very good about it! This style is out of my reach but yours is very pleasing to my eyes and gives a warm feeling!
yes, more what I am used to! very pretty
Taheerah, I really like this card. It's an ensemble piece… so many wonderful things on it to gaze at! 🙂
I really, really, really like this card! Love your colours! It's so much stamps and die cuts "going on", and yet you manage to keep the balance prefectly!
Looks fabulous T! And a very nice mash up of a bunch of different sets.
