Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!
We’re on the penultimate day of my Valentine’s series! Man that has gone fast!
Here’s the catch-up blurb for any of you who need to, y’know…
Due to the popularity of my 25 Days of Christmas Cards posts (well, they were popular with me anyway!), I thought I’d bring you a series of cards that are perfect for Valentine’s Day! And, just to give this series a little twist, I am challenging myself and keeping them all as cards that are suitable for guys! Every year I see a smorgasbord of beautiful Valentine’s cards, and they are all very well done and very inspiring – but they all tend to be very girly. So I’m bucking the trend and bringing you a fortnight of cards dedicated to the men in our lives!
I really hope you’ve enjoyed this series as much as I have!
So today’s card was one I’d planned in my head ever since I got the Mama Elephant Cosmic Stars set:
I love how this turned out! I love it when a plan comes together!
I started with a Sterling Silver card base. I wanted to make the shape of a heart with the star trails but experience of trying this on scratch paper with just the stamps freestyle wasn’t giving me great results. So, I die cut a heart from acetate using the Sizzix Heart #7 die and used the negative to trace the shape of the heart to use as a guide.
I then used the star trails from Cosmic Stars to create my heart design using Enchanted Evening ink. Once I got to the arrow I freestyled it, but tracing the heart really made all the difference! The end result is so neat that I didn’t even have to erase the lines (though a close-up photo tells me otherwise, d’oh!).
I didn’t need much detail to finish it off – just a sentiment from the same set stamped in Enchanted
Evening. Done!
Well, I do hope you’ll join me back here tomorrow. Not only will there be a post for the conclusion of this series, but there’ll also be the most-amazing-of-amazing Made With Love Blog Hop that I’m taking part in with all the Gallery Idol girls! With all the prizes that are up for grabs and the completely dazzling talent and inspiration to boot you will definitely not want to miss it!
Thanks so much for stopping by! See you again soon!
Ack! I was going to go to bed, but then I saw this one and had to leave one more comment : ) Love, love this concept and your execution. It totally works, and have never seen this idea before.
Aww, this is perfect! When I first got this set, I couldn't figure out what the dashes with the stars at the end were for…. it was a lightbulb moment when I realized they were to create constellations! LOL!
Yours is fabulous, T.!
