Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I am so glad the weekend’s almost here!
So, did you enjoy the Made With Love Blog Hop yesterday?
Wasn’t it amazing?! Remember you have until 23:59EST on Thursday 21st February 2013 to leave a comment for a chance to win some amazing prizes! To get started with the Hop just scroll down or click here.
Right, let’s get on with today’s post, shall we? 🙂
I needed to make a birthday card recently for a DJing loving person. After a little thought, I came up with this:
I couldn’t be more thrilled with how this turned out!
I started with a piece of True Black cardstock. I used pretty much every size of Circle Nestaibilities that I have, stacked them on top of each other, then ran through my Big Shot with embossing pads to create the impressed vinyl. 🙂 I then trimmed out the circle by hand, tapped it repeatedly into my Versamark pad then embossed it with WOW! Clear Semi Dull embossing powder to give it a proper vinyl look.
I then die cut a circle from Pure Poppy cardstock and punched/trimmed out a hole in the centre. I then stamped it with the sentiment and oval from Just The Ticket using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added the rays from Becky Oehlers’ American Made set using Versamark ink, then added the little trails of stars using Versafine ink.
I then adhered both the centre and vinyl portions to a Stamper’s Select White card base using Pinflair Glue Gel and I was all done!
So, do you have any plans for the weekend? I hope to get plenty of crafting done and also just relax in a nice warm house. I love weekends. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by – I would love it if you would leave some love before you go!
Love it! What a clever idea.
Great minds think alike, T! I did the same for a special issue of Paper Crafts though I wish I'd have thought of the embossing powder to give it more detail. It was a pain to photograph those impressed circles – thanks for the tip!
Hugs!

WHAT?!? This is flipping awesome!!! I recognized the sentiment and stars right away … they are perfect for a record label. I'd love to see the vinyl part in real life with the embossing. You really outdid yourself on this one, Taheerah!
