Hi everyone! How are you doing today?
I’m back playing with another Moxie Fab World Challenge. This time I’m bringing you an entry for The Emphasise The Negative Challenge.
I had an idea in my head for this since I saw it, but I wasn’t too sure how it would turn out. It’s a little bit of a style departure for me as I tackle something a bit more, gulp, whimsical…
What do you think? I actually really like how this turned out! Feels very homespun to me!
I started with a panel of Rustic White cardstock and die cut the letters from it using the PTI Script Alphabet Die Collection (both upper and lower case). I then literally emphasised the negatives, by backed the openings with various patterned papers (supply list can be found below).
I had a lot of fun mixing and matching the patterns to create a homespun look! Some of the letters also got a ‘double negative’ treatment, with pieces of patterned paper making it to the front of the panel as well!
I then accented with some stamping, using Mini Blooms and Mama Elephant’s Trifecta set. I used Hero Arts inks in Bubble Gum and Butter Bar, and PTI inks in Sweet Blush, Limeade Ice, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores and Smokey Shadow. I stamped some of the blooms onto a separate piece of cardstock then trimmed out and adhered to the panel using Pinflair Glue Gel.
After that it was just the simple matter of adhering the panel to a Rustic White card base, and I was all done!
Well I have almost worked my way through all these challenges now. Not decided yet whether to take a little break from them now or whether to complete the set now! I would love to know what you think of this little card though. Thanks so much for stopping by, I do hope you have a great day!

Hey Taheerah! Thanks for linking this up to the Emphasize the Negative Challenge in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! 🙂
This isn't a card; it's a work of art! 😉 You took the negative challenge to a whole new level. Love your results.
Great take on negative die cutting with an eclectic mix of papers – that's some supplies list LOL!
How fun! I call it springtime freestyle collage. It's such a cute card, you must've slaved over it! but it looks great!
Very sweet and homespun, indeed! I didn't know PTI made a fun script alpha–must check it out!
How sweet and lovely!! Beautiful use of the floral theme and negative dies! Congrats on your Camera Craze win!You sure are on a roll, girl! Way to go!
Love this whimsical take on the challenge! So much goodness packed into one wonderful card.
You hit the nail on the head with the label of "homespun" … totally the feeling I get! But you know what I love the most? That you have a billion different patterned papers here, and not one of them is from the same set. You always do things the hard, and manual, way. LOVE it!
