Hey everyone! It’s Friday! Woo hoo!!!
I’m back with Day 4’s homework for the Pattern Play class.
Day 4’s homework was all about altering patterned paper to use it in a different way. All sorts of ideas were suggested, but I went with something that felt very ‘me’ – glitter and mists!
What do you think? I’m loving the chance to use this bold pattern, hopefully it works!!
I started with a piece of patterned paper from the Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic collection. *Love* this collection! I used the leopard print paper and altered it by going over all of the black spots with my Quickie Glue Pen then coating with Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter. When this was done I swiped the edges with Hibiscus Burst ink and splattered with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mist in Primrose. I then adhered the panel to my Stamper’s Select White card base, taking care to swipe the edges of the base too.
I trimmed a piece of the black grid paper from the same collection and a piece of pink scribble paper from the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection. From the black paper I die cut the word ‘Brilliant’ using the Simon Says Stamp Brilliant And Strong dies. I adhered the pink paper behind this piece to show off the negative die cut. I stamped the sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp You set using Versamark ink then heat embossed with WOW! Fluorescent Tickled Pink embossing powder.
I adhered the sentiment panel to the card base using Pinflair Glue Gel, added some sequins and I was done!
As this card uses a negative die-cut I figured I’d also enter it into the Moxie Fab Emphasize The Negative Challenge too!
Well, that’s it from me, and also almost it from this class! We have one more day of lessons and homework and that’s it! I have so enjoyed taking this class and feel it really has given me more confidence with patterned paper! I can’t recommend it enough!
I would love to know what you think of this little card before you head on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey Taheerah! Thanks for linking this up to the Emphasize the Negative Challenge in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! 🙂
Soooo SASSY! Yes it is! The leopard sits so well next to the hot pink. I do think that the spray mist tones down the leopard a little. A fun, fun card!
