Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! Goodness me, where has the weekend gone?!
Well my crafting groove seems to have completely deserted me this weekend! I am still creating but God is it slow. And I am so late with my posts, as you have been able to see! I hope to be back to a normal routine for tomorrow, lol!
Anchors and nautical themes in general seem to be trending quite a lot at the moment, so I thought I’d put together a card today with my own spin on it. I have yet to purchase a stamp set that is purely nautical so I do plan to revisit this trend more once I have!
What do you think? I’m really digging this!
I started with a Stamper’s Select White card base and adhered some torn strips of True Blue Fan cardstock onto it. I really like the unevenness of the stripes, the torn edges make it really rustic!
I then stamped one of the circles from Uniko Studio’s Background Builders: Round In Circles using Versamark ink and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder. I punched it out with a 1 1/4″ circle punch then punched out the centre with a 1″ circle punch. I stamped the anchor from Bountiful Banners and heat embossed in the same way, punching out with a 1/2″ circle punch. Both were adhered to the base using Pinflair Glue Gel.
Finally I created the sentiment using Bountiful Banners. There is no ‘Ahoy’ sentiment in there so I built it from the letters from other sentiments in the set. I never make life easy for myself! I think it turned out okay though, albeit a little tiny bit uneven! But hey, uneven = rustic here, lol!
Well, I had better go eat something then carry on crafting! I hope I can start to create more prolifically soon! In the meantime I would love to know what you think of this card before you head on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by, I’ll see you again soon!
