Hey everyone! Happy Monday!
It’s a very Happy Monday for me as I finally get to unveil some news I’ve been keeping in for what seems like forever!!
That’s right! If you haven’t come from the Lil’ Inker Designs blog then let me be the first to tell you – I am the newest member of the Lil’ Inker Designs Design Team!!!
To say I am ecstatic and thrilled would be a gigantic understatement!! I am so honoured and can’t believe I get to work alongside such talented ladies!! Thank you so much for inviting me to the party Laura!!
And the breaking of my news coincides ever so nicely with a super-awesome new Blog Hop and Challenge that we are putting on:
Let me just tell you now – this Hop and its Challenge – are awesome!! Lil’ Inker Designs are giving away their most generous prizes *ever* and you will have an absolute blast playing along!!
So, to ring in this Challenge the Design Team have all created a little something using the following Inspiration Graphic:
Does it get more ‘Summer’ than that?! Gorgeous sunshiney goodness!!
Armed with an inspiring colour palette and dreams firmly set on a holiday away, I came up with this:
What do you think? I am kinda in love with this!!
I started with a Rustic Cream card base. I die cut some flip flops from fun foam using the Flip Flops die, then sprayed on repositionable adhesive onto the reverse to create some stamps! I inked up a striped strip stamp with Fine Linen ink then kissed the foam flip flops against it and stamped onto my card base to create the prints in the sand!
Next up was that gorgeous sea! I used an ink blending tool to apply soft layers of A:Muse Bermuda and Sky inks, then brushed my EK Success Powder Tool all over it before using a VersaMarker pen to draw on some crests and heat emboss them with WOW! Opaque Seafoam White embossing powder. The best thing about embossing something like this is the non-precise nature of it all – and if you have stray grains it’s okay!
I die cut some more flip flops and their straps from fun foam, and coloured them with Copic markers. The pink also has a bit of Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mist in Primrose rubbed in for good measure! I assembled the flip flops with Glossy Accents then adhered to the base using Pinflair Glue Gel, being careful to stamp the underside of the upturned flip flop with the same stripes to match the stamped prints.
All that remained was to stamp the sentiment from Sun Sentiments using Versafine Onyx Black ink and I was all done!
So, would you like some more details of the Challenge and prizes? Read on!
How awesome is all of that?! I bet you all can’t wait to enter now!! But before you do, please check out the other Design Team creations for our Hop!!
(Isha has been newly promoted to the full DT! YAY!)
Right, well! You have a lot of awesomeness to take in, so I won’t keep you here much longer! I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way to the rest of the amazing DT blogs though! Thanks so much for stopping by!

This card is gorgeous, Taheerah. I just love using fun foam with my dies, it's such a nice change of pace. And it makes for adorable flip flops!
Breathtaking, Taheerah! I love how you made the waves – I swear they move!
Ummm, YAY!!! What FAN-tastic news!! They really made a smart choice in inviting you, you will totally rock everything you do.
AND, I've seen a million cards with flip flops (mostly the Papertrey ones) and I've never seen anyone:
1) turn one over (brilliant … gives a great feeling like you've just tossed them off your feet and sat down to relax);
2) made footprints with them (seriously?!); and
3) put tread on the bottom (well I guess since I haven't seen one turned over that's why I haven't seen tread, but goes to show when you do something different other wonderful things happen).
Bravo!
Welcome to the team Taheerah. It's wonderful to have you among us. Lovely card and all the details ๐
