Hey everyone! Happy Monday!
So I pinned an inspiration image on Pinterest ages ago, always wanting to recreate my own version. And seeing as I’ve been on such an inspiration photo kick lately I figured the time had come!
So here was the inspiration. I *so* love the bokeh effect here:
And here’s what I came up with:
Swoon!!! I love it *so* much!!!
I started with a Blue Shimmer card base. I knew I wanted to sponge ink on there to form the hearts, rather than stamping them. So I turned to my Mama Elephant Party kit set for what I thought would be the perfect heart! I stamped it onto some acetate then trimmed it out carefully to create a mask!
Question: Taheerah, why didn’t you just use the dies? Answer: the end of the balloon didn’t give the right shape. Plus I like making things difficult for myself.
Moving on.
I positioned the mask and sponged in Vintage Cream ink. I don’t know why I haven’t used this ink in so long – it is by far the best cream ink ever, and the colour is one of my favourites across all inks!!
I used just that ink here, and by varying the amount of pressure was able to create whiter/lighter hearts, and more pronouced, cream ones. I used a tissue to rub and diffuse some of the hearts too, to make them less solid.
I finished up the card with a sentiment from WPlus9’s Quite Like You set. I thought it ended up perfectly! Except that my stamp positioner thing pressed down a bit before I was ready, so I was committed to the sentiment placement and had to re-stamp, then perform a bit of card surgery to correct the mistake.
It more or less worked though, and overall I really still love the end result!!
I’ll be back a little later today with a peek of this month’s StampSpotlight – yes, it’s that time already!! And this one is a *great* one, with it coming up to Christmas and all!
I would love it if you would leave some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I love this card! It looks even better than the inspiration- it's truly beautiful! And the sentiment is perfect! 🙂 Wow!
Swoon!!! Magnificent!!! And you read my mind when you answered the why not using the die question, lol!
Seriously stunning! GORGEOUS!!!
Gorgeous bokeh effect! The muted color combo really adds a touch of sophistication, too! I only wish I can see it in person….sigh.
