Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!
I love pink. It is one of my favourite colours. Okay it doesn’t go with my trendy, cool, bad-ass persona, but facts are facts. So I couldn’t not join in with this month’s Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!!
This month’s challenge, as I alluded to before – pretty in pink!
Although I love pink, creating a card with just pink (plus the option of a neutral, if necessary) was tough! I so wanted to add a pop of aqua or something, lol! But in the end I was a good girl and played by the rules.
I’m still loving the modern scrapbooking, freestyle collage look, so I decided to just have a play and this is what happened:
What do you think? I am so in love with this soft dreamy beauty!!
I started with a panel of vellum and stamped my landmarks from City Scene using Mama Elephant inks in Blush and Bubblegum. I sprinkled on some Stickles Dry Glitter then some Filigree Clear embossing powder and heat set.
Next I flipped the panel over and did some watercolouring! I pressed Distress Inks in Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry onto my acrylic block and spritzed with water mixed with a little Perfect Pearls in Perfect Pearl, then added a few spritzes of Perfect Pearls Mist in Biscotti for good measure. I added my washes of colour then a very slight wash and spatter on the front. I added a light wash in Antique Linen Distress ink too. When dry I stamped the pennants and stars using Bubblegum ink.
Next I created my striped panel. I used a panel of Pure White cardstock and blended Distress inks in Antique Linen and Spun Sugar, then stamped the stripes from Distressed Stripes using a mix of Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks. I spritzed the stamps with my water mix then sprayed the entire panel too. I trimmed it down and kept a strip aside for later.
It doesn’t show, but my Pure White card base also has some ink blending and watercolouring with my pink and linen inks, then splattered with Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold. I adhered my cardstock panel to it using my Teresa Collins Mega Runner then adhered my vellum panel using Pinflair Glue Gel – but not before adhering some May Arts Metallic Gold String between them using Glossy Accents.
I die cut the Polaroid frame from vellum using the Fabulous Frames die, then trimmed the inside square to be larger. I tapped my Blush inkpad over the frame then brushed on some Perfect Pearls. I adhered this to my card using Pinflair again.
Onto the finishing touches now. I took that leftover strip of striped cardstock from earlier and stamped my sentiments from City Scene Sentiments using a mix of Brushed Corduroy and Antique Linen Distress Inks, then adhered them to my frame using Pinflair Glue Gel.
Finally I added some sequins, and a mini clothes peg coated with Gelly Gems and an inked Studio Calico wood veneer heart and I was all done!
I’ve already seen some amazing entries for this Blog Hop so I’m keen to check out some more! I want to thank you for stopping by today and I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!

I'm so glad you played by the rules, your card turned out amazing all in pink! Scrumptious, loose layers and all highlighted in gold touches. So very you! Love that city scene set … a million looks you get from it.
I can't even begin to tell you all the things I love about this card! I can't seem to master this airy collage look, no matter how much I admire and study it. However, I am happy to continue admiring them. And this card is absolutely breathtaking in every detail!
