Runway Inspired Challenge #56 – Alice & Olivia

Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday!

It’s time for another Runway Inspired Challenge! I so love creating for these!!

Here’s the *gorgeous* inspiration image for this challenge:

Not only is that skirt *amazing* with that awesome kaleidoscope-style butterfly pattern, but the photo is so atmospheric as well!

I kept being pulled back to that solid top as well, so decided to go for a colour blocking-style of card:

What do you think? I suppose it’s a decent enough card but it doesn’t ‘excite’ me! Oh well, can’t win ’em all I guess!

I started with a Pure White card base and adhered a panel of Golden Tiara cardstock to it. I decided I wanted to make the most of the Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Cardmaking 3 – One Layer Cards class and create a completely flat card, so that meant I got to play with some inlaid die-cutting again for the next part.

I die cut a piece of Pure White cardstock using the Filigree Border die and coloured the pieces with Copics before adhering all in place to the base. I added a small strip of white cardstock between the die cut and the colour panel, stamping with the sentiment from the Newton’s Nook Just Say Cheese set and a little star from the Mama Elephant Starry Night set and I was all done!

So anyway, now I’m all done squealing and monkey clapping with excitement and all the rest of it, you definitely want to check out what the rest of the DT have come up with!!

Our sponsor this week is Ellen Hutson so be sure to enter to be in with a chance of an awesome prize!

And as previously mentioned, I’m linking this up at the Online Card Classes Gallery too.

Thanks so much for joining me today and sharing in my excitement!! I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!

  1. You must just be tired – regarding the lack of excitement, I mean!! THIS is fabulous – I'm going to find my filigree die right now and use it – so inspired 🙂

  2. Love your foray into inlaid die-cutting Taheerah – its a technique that I'm always floored by and your card is no exception! The colour blocking is so vibrant and sets of all your die-cut pieces beautifully…just stunning 😉

  3. I love how you even got the model's bare midriff in your card, hahaha!! Boy do those blue dots jump out at me, which is surprising because I don't think of blue typically as a "jump out" kinda color. Maybe it's because it's surrounded by so many vibrant colors. I dunno, but I sure do like it!
