Hey everyone! Welcome back!
So it’s time for the Neat & Tangled July Release! We have *five* awesome sets being released this month!! Definitely something for everyone, with some super-versatile sets!!
Today I’m so-super excited to help introduce my absolute favourite set of the release – A Long Time Ago! That Miriam Prantner is at it again, designing completely unique sets – and I am so so thrilled with the theme of this one – Star Wars!! Be still my geeky heart!!!
Miriam also has another set this month, Time Warp, which goes together so well with A Long Time Ago! I’ve not used it with today’s card but rest assured you will see it getting plenty of use in future!
I wanted the clever sentiments to be the absolute star of the show. Here’s what I came up with:
*squeal* This is probably one of my all-time ever favourites of all my designs!! I am so so crazy over how it turned out!!!
I started with a panel of Pure White cardstock and used Distress Paints in Picket Fence, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Barn Door, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Peeled Paint and Black Soot to create that awesome awesome background. Yes, I created that!!
I can’t claim the technique by any means – watch the master-at-work, Kristina Werner, show you how it’s done! Hers came out so much better obviously *sulks*. But I am still really happy with my first ever attempt at this technique!!
I used water mixed with a little Perfect Pearls to water down the paints, so this card packs an awesome shimmer too!!
Once all the paint was dry I stamped my sentiments using Versamark ink and heat embossed using Zing embossing powder in Butter for that iconic look.
I adhered my panel to my True Black card base using Scor-Tape and I was all done! I could seriously stare at this card all day!!
I do strongly encourage you to visit the Neat & Tangled Blog to see what the rest of the DT has created and to hop along and leave them some love!
Thanks so much for stopping by – I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!
