Add a Little Dazzle and Neat and Tangled Blog Hop

I’m back today with a super-fun post!

All this week Neat & Tangled are collaborating with Add A Little Dazzle for a series of hops full of inspiration and prizes!

Add A Little Dazzle produce awesome craft metal sheets which can be used in a variety of different ways! There are some great colours and the sheets lend themselves to die-cutting, embossing, stamping, heat embossing and more! Each day two members of the N&T DT are hopping along with a few of the ALD team, sharing inspiration created with products from both companies! And of course there are prizes to win too – more on that later!!

Here’s what I came up with:

*swoon* I could not be more thrilled with how this turned out!!

I started by drawing round a circle die on some Shimmer Cream cardstock then stamping the snowflakes from Falling Flakes using Versamark ink and heat embossing with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I then stamped the houses scene from Winter Wishes using Versamark and Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing with Filigree Black embossing powder.

I made the circle into a snowglobe be freehand drawing a base then trimming the whole thing out by hand. I made a counterpart for the top of the card and die cut the circle from the middle using the Stitched Mats: Circles dies from Lil’ Inker Designs. I also die cut a circle from acetate and adhered that to the reverse of the globe front using Scor-Tape. 

Next came the fun – adding a little dazzle! I used a Martha Stewart Punch to punch out lots of flakes from the Brushed Bronze and Wondrous White metal sheets. I combined them with some sequins and Martha Stewart Snow Glitter to make some shaker filling!

I die cut a little snow bank from Pure White cardstock using the circle die and the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die collection and adhered in place on the panel with Pinflair. Got to have somewhere for all that snow to collect! I added several ’rounds’ of Pinflair Glue Gel round the edge of the globe front (on the reverse of it) then sandwiched the two layers together to create my fun shaker!! 

I then turned to some of the finishing touches of the design. I added some freehand cut Brushed Bronze sheet to the bottom of the card for the globe base. Next, I stamped the large ‘Merry’ sentiment from Very Merry onto Pure White cardstock using Versafine, trimmed it out and adhered in place with Pinflair. I stamped the companion ‘Christmas’ sentiment onto True Black cardstock using Versamark and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder, scored the strip and fishtailed the ends to make a banner, then adhered in place using Pinflair. And phew, I think that’s about it!

  14. WOW, FAB!!!!! What a great idea for a shaker…now I have thought that you could stamp onto acetate and have sprinkles and sequins on both sides! where to find the time to create!!!!!   26. Beautiful shaker card and you did so much of it free-hand. cutting the snowflakes out of the metal was a good idea.
