Hi everyone! Happy Friday!
I’ve been in kind of a retro mood lately. Perhaps it was my recent forays into creating a neon sign card that got me in the that headspace, but I’ve been drooling over mod patterns, funky designs and other awesome stuff like that.
This month’s stamps from CAS-ual Fridays might not leap out and say ‘retro’ to you, but I couldn’t escape the vibe when designing my cards for today’s release blog hop.
Here’s the first of two cards I created with this month’s goodies:
Gorgeous pattern, right?! I stamped the diamond stamps from the Modern Petals stamp set in Spring colours to create a sort of subtle plaid! It still feels kinda retro to me, even though plaid is making a comeback and these colours give it a more modern feel.
The sentiment from the Floating stamp set was a wonderful little uplifting touch to this pretty card.
Next up, I went full-on retro:
I am crazy about this one! The sentiments from So Pretty really reminded me of a 70s style design, so that’s where I went with my design!
I created my rainbow pattern by hand, colouring them with Copic markers. The sentiments from Rad also went perfectly with this so I had to add a couple!

A Little Lift Card
70s Retro Thank You Card
I like both but that second one is soooo retro you’re right. There’s a cafe round the corner from my office that has a similar logo and it this totally reminds me of the Top of the Pops magazine ! Great flashback.
Super fun cards! Love your take on Modern Petals!
I love your cards. You did both soft and bold colors equally well. Love the stamps too.
Ohhhh that modern petal set is pretty! It looks very versatile!
