Hey everyone! Happy Thursday!
I’m taking part in a very special Blog Hop today to celebrate one of my favourite companies!
The altogether awesome Altenew are turning two! To be honest, I can’t believe it’s only been two years since the brainchild of my dear friends Tasnim and Jen burst onto the stamping scene and stole our hearts with their fresh, trendy, clever designs! What they’ve accomplished in only two years is staggering and a testament to their talent and hard work! Congratulations Altenew – Happy Birthday, and many more!
You should have made your way here from my awesome, uber talented friend, Yana Smakula – but if not feel free to start at the beginning at the Altenew blog! 🙂
I couldn’t wait to break out the delicious Way Too Sweet set for my project. I just love the adorable all the yummy cakes, ice-creams and ice lollies in the set – and all the sweet sentiments as well!
Here’s what I came up with:
I love how this turned out! The photographs didn’t quite do it justice (the vanilla coloured ink is barely visible in the photos but it *is* there) – I wish you could see all the detail properly in real life!
I used the reverse of the ice-cream stamp first, inking it up with Distress Inks and Distress Stain, spritzing with water, then ‘slamming’ the stamp down on the card base so I would get uneven, splat images! So happy with how this turned out!
When all of the splattered images were dry, I inked up the normal side of the stamp with the same colours and overstamped them, deliberately not aligning the images perfectly for a fun touch. I finished up with the sentiment and some splatter for a sweet card perfect for the occasion!
