Hi everyone! Happy Saturday – and happy (inter)National Scrapbooking Day to you too!! We’ve got an amazing day ahead for you today!!
Today’s post is an awesome one because it combines two of my most favourite companies – Pinkfresh Studio and Winnie & Walter!! In honour of (inter)National Scrapbooking Day these two AMAZING companies are bringing you a day chock-full off fantastic challenges *and* giveaways!!
I’m taking part in the first challenge of the day, which is being hosted on the Winnie & Walter blog – a Create Your Own Background challenge!! Fun!!
I pulled out one of the newest Winnie & Walter sets, In Bloom: Addie’s Garden, and teamed it up with the *awesome* ‘Love’ die from the Pinkfresh Studio March Fresh Inspiration Kit and made… something that is neither a scrapbook layout or a card, lol:
*swoon* I am so so so so *so* happy with how this turned out!!
I’ve slowly started creating my own pieces of work that can be framed and hung around the house, and I am absolutely *thrilled* with this one!!
I started with a panel of watercolour paper and repeated stamped the sunflowe/gerbera daisy on it using Versamark ink, then heat embossed it all with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I then broke out the watercolours and watercoloured the panel. I added a few splashes of Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mist in Gold Lame too for some added shimmer and interest!
I die cut the ‘Love’ word three times from Sea Glass cardstock, adhered them together with Multi Matte Medium then adhered the finished piece to my panel using Pinflair Glue Gel. All that was left to frame this beauty and I was all done!!
Sooo, I mentioned a challenge and a giveaway, right?! Read on!!
Pinkfresh Studio and Winnie & Walter are each giving away a $15 gift certificate for the winners of this challenge!! Hop on over to the Winnie & Walter blog for more details on the challenge itself and to link up your own entries!
Aaaand, while you’re at it, please keep checking back at the Winnie & Walter and Pinkfresh Studio blogs throughout the day for all the other challenges! Several DT members from both companies will be participating in challenges throughout the day and be sure to leave comments on both the manufacturers and the DT members blogs, as I think there *might* be an additional chance to win by leaving comments too!!
Thanks so much for stopping by – and have fun creating!!

Gorgeous! I can see why you're so pleased with this, Taheerah, the colors are fabulous with those daisies, and I love how the word "love" stands out even though it's tiny. Wonderful work!
Well, this is so pretty, love the colors! You take such nice pics!
This is gorgeous Taheerah! I love making my own backgrounds and this is a great technique. I want to play now!
