Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday!
It’s time for another Runway Inspired Challenge! I am so loving creating for these!!
Here’s the *gorgeous* inspiration image for this challenge:
I love the mix of patterns and colours here!! So fun!!
So after the craziness of my last Runway card I decided to go for something a little easier. *wink* But I still wielded the craft knife for this one:
I really love how this turned out!!
I started by trimming a square panel of Pure White cardstock. I was drawn by the criss-crossing of different patterns on the skirt of the dress and wanted to recreate that, so I drew some random (not measured out) lines on my square and used my craft knife to trim it into all the different shapes.
I then took some pieces of burlap and painted them with Distress Paint in Black Soot. I used some Matte Medium to adhere the pieces to my panels. For the rest of the pieces I used Distress Markers to add the stripes in various colours. I trimmed a slightly larger panel of cardstock, stamped the edges with Versamark ink and double embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder. I then adhered all the pieces onto the panel using Pinflair Glue Gel, fitting them together like a puzzle.
I added a strip of vellum stamped with the sentiment from Mama Elephant’s XOXO set, stamping with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing with Filigree Clear embossing powder. I adhered the completed panel to my card base and I was all done! Very happy with the end result!
So anyway, now I’m all done squealing and monkey clapping with excitement and all the rest of it, you definitely want to check out what the rest of the DT have come up with!!
Our sponsor this week is Ellen Hutson so be sure to enter to be in with a chance of an awesome prize!
Thanks so much for joining me today and sharing in my excitement!! I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!
Supplies:
Love, love, love your piece of art! You should frame it, it's fabulous!
I love the abstract & artistic background…the sentiment on vellum is the perfect touch!
Coolio. That photo stumps me (except for seeing distress ink in the blue BG). Love how you incorporated the black texture onto your card.
Super fun!!! 🙂 I love how this turned out!
Totally unique and original! You always come up with something something special….with your design! Your burlap panels with Black Soot are definitely superb! Love the mod vibe!
I love how your cards almost always use unique little techniques…it makes them so special!
This is really cool! I love the burlap, adds such a fantastic texture/contrast to the straight lines!
You painted the burlap black. You really did. Awesome! It looks amazing next to your hand drawn lines. Then I looked back at the inspiration photo and was amazed at how close it really came to it. Wonderful!
I love it too! It is like an awesome piece of wall hanging art. You would enlarge it and frame it! 🙂
This is absolutely fabulous and so true to the inspiration look! I love it!
