Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope this day is full of wonderful memories, great food, laughter, joy and all your hearts could ask for!!
I’m popping by with the first of two posts today – make sure you stop by for some amazing Blog Candy later!! You’ll have two weeks to enter though so don’t worry if you don’t get a chance today! 🙂
I like to share a more traditional and sombre card on Christmas Day. I’m not a Christian but I know that today is a special and blessed day for many of you out there. So for those of you celebrating the side of Christmas that isn’t all about Santa and stockings and minced pies and presents, this card is probably more up your street:
What do you think? I love how this turned out! So beautiful!
I started by stamping the Baby Jesus in a Manger image from Stained Glass onto vellum using Versamark ink and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Platinum embossing powder. I then used Copics to add some gentle colouring on the reverse, paper pieced the swaddling cloth using paper from the My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found: Record It collection, and added a mix of Martha Stewart glitters to the halo and star using Glossy Accents.
Next I prepared a Shimmer Blue card base, using the Stained Glass dies to cut a window in the front. I adhered the vellum on the inside then adhered the thin frame, coated with glitters, on top of it. Love the effect!
I finished up with heat embossing the sentiment from Holiday Cheer and that completed my card!
I’ll be back later on as I said, but for now wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas again!! I would love it if you would leave some love before you head on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!
