With it being Father’s Day I thought I’d share a card I made for Gel-à-Tins using the Shifting Gears set!

I went for a CAS-meets-grunge effect and came up with this:

Perfect for an engineer or geek dad huh?!

I started with a Sterling Silver card base and stamped the gears using Versamark ink before embossing them  using WOW! Metallic Brass embossing powder. Then I tried something new – sprinkled embossing! I dipped a wide, flat, soft brush into my embossing powder and tapped it above the card base to sprinkle on the powder before heating it. Love how this turned out!

To finish up the design I rubbed my Pressed Greige Linen and I Steel Got It inkpads over the card to ‘dirty’ it up a little, then embossed a Father’s Day sentiment from PTI’s World’s Greatest Dad set – and that’s all there is to it!

Well I do hope you’re getting a chance to do some of what you love this weekend! I’m about to start a new job tomorrow – exciting times!
