Hey everyone! Happy Friday!
I’m sharing one of the most awesome cards I’ve ever created today!! I’m so excited, but it’s also a bittersweet post. My boss is leaving work and I of course made his leaving card. I needed to create something geeky, and funny – and BIG! I hit upon an awesome idea… and the following was born:
O.M.G.!!!! Can you say *wow*?!?!?!?! Because I am!!! I am *over. the. moon.* with how this turned out!!!
And BIG it certainly is – approximately 11 1/2″ x 15 1/2″!!!
I started by creating my massive card base with some black poster cardstock I found in a hobby store. I then used the Unity Japanese Background stamp and stamped the whole stamp across repeatedly and at different heights using Versamark ink. *Then* I cut the stamp apart *shudder!* and used some of the strips stamped on their own at various points. Well, the stamp had to be sacrificed for my art!!
When all that stamping was done I brushed on some Perfect Pearls in Interference Green (the *perfect* colour for this!!) to give that great Matrix effect!!
I then used my MFT Typewriter Alphabet set to add individual letters randomly at various points. I used both sizes of font so there’s a lot of detail here!! I was also careful to leave a hidden message in there – some of the strings spell out ‘Sorry ur leaving Simon’. *grins*
Finally, for the main sentiment, I used some Thickers. I picked out the ones with the closest font, but they weren’t white. So I mushed them into my Versamark inkpad then heat embossed them with WOW! Opaque Seafoam White embossing powder. I adhered them to the card using Glossy Accents. And I was all done!!
Well, I’ve got a very busy weekend ahead, so I guess I’d better get to it! I’d love to know what you think of this BIG creation though! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Holly cow, Taheerah! I am speechless. This is the coolest card I've ever seen! And I've seen lots of cool cards over the years. But this? The lucky recipient should frame it!

Really, you cut apart a background stamp? Well allrighty then!! That's so bold, confident, and YOU! The green iridescent is just SO PERFECT for this card. Such a recognizable image from Matrix, how fabulous that you turned it into a card! And the hidden message in your random letters is such a great detail. Again, so very you! I would have loved to see this pictured next to something I know to get a feel for the large size (maybe a regular card? Or your pillow?!)
