Hey everyone! I hope your Monday has been good so far, y’know, for a Monday that is!
Before I get onto today’s card, I just wanted to remind you that you still have time to comment on the Made With Love Blog Hop posts for a chance to win some amazing prizes!! Click here to get started!
So I’m bringing you a card that’s very rare for me – a do-over of a card I previously made. I almost *never* do this, but with this card I had an idea that I just couldn’t let go of!
So the card in question is this one, from my 14 Days of Valentine’s Cards series:
I really do *love* this card, but in keeping it masculine I hadn’t got to play around with colours etc all that much. So, now that all the masculine stuff is out of the way, I got to recreate this card in a colour scheme that is much trendier and much more me right now:
That’s right – it’s now neon!!! I {heart} neon!!!
To create this version of my card I had to follow a slightly different process from the original – but not too different! I started with a Stamper’s Select White card base and stamped the heart from my own stamp set using Hero Arts Neon Pink ink. I then stamped another heart onto a Post-It note, trimmed it out and used it to mask the heart. I then rubbed my Hero Arts Neon Yellow ink over the entire base to colour it. I need to get some neon coloured cardstock!!
I then stamped the angled brackets with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then die cut the letters as before using the Block Alphabet die collection. Done! Just look at all that gorgeous neon!!!
So I’d love to know what you think of this card. Which version do you prefer? I’m crushin’ on this one an awful lot, but I know not everyone loves neon like I do!!
Thanks so much for stopping by, I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way! See you again soon!
Loving both versions of this card! I think I might like the first one better, although maybe that is because Neon yellow is my least favorite of the neon colors….maybe if the base was a different neon? This is totally a card for Erin!
Awesome neon card!! (where are my sunglasses? *looking around* :D)
Did you rub the ink directly from ink pad to paper? that must have taken some time. I love this sweet simple design too! no wonder you wanted to vamp up the original 🙂
