Hi everyone! How’s Thursday treating you?
Can you believe we’re on the final day of my Valentine’s Showcase?! I can’t! Time certainly flies!
For those of you seeing this last post first (lol), here’s the low-down for one final time:
Due to the popularity of my 25 Days of Christmas Cards posts (well, they were popular with me anyway!), I thought I’d bring you a series of cards that are perfect for Valentine’s Day! And, just to give this series a little twist, I am challenging myself and keeping them all as cards that are suitable for guys! Every year I see a smorgasbord of beautiful Valentine’s cards, and they are all very well done and very inspiring – but they all tend to be very girly. So I’m bucking the trend and bringing you a fortnight of cards dedicated to the men in our lives!
I’ve enjoyed creating for this series so much! To be honest, it’s not the journey I expected. When I first had the idea for this series I expected I’d be using wood and all other manner of other ideas, I didn’t expect to make so many geeky cards… but I’m really happy for the way things have turned out!
I also want to thank all of you who have supported this series with your kind comments and visits. They really mean so much!
So for my final card, I decided it was only fair that I was true to my geeky heart and embraced this idea:
In case you don’t get the reference, it’s based on Doctor Who and the fact that Timelords have two hearts!
I started with an Enchanted Evening card base and stamped the heart from Avery Elle’s Lots of Love set twice using Versamark ink.
I then spelled out the sentiment using Mama Elephant’s Midnight Letters, also stamping with Versamark. I then heat embossed the whole thing with Detail Silver embossing powder. And that’s it – quick and simple and done!
I want to thank you all so much for taking this wonderful, and often at times weird (lol), journey with me as I’ve created my 14 Days of Valentine’s Cards series. I would love to know what you thought of the series as a whole – should I do another series sometime? Something other than Valentine’s? And as always, I would love your comments on this card itself.
Thank you so much for stopping by – please stop back in just one hour for the Made With Love Blog Hop! It’s going to be EPIC!!
Another fun card – we are Dr Who fans here! Thanks for the 14 days of inspiration!
Totally showing my kids this–they love dr. who!
So…I saw this card and I was like…Hey! That's a Dr. Who card…I wonder if she knows that…and then I read your post! 🙂 Love it! 🙂
I didn't get the reference, but the double heart still looks cool! Silver on that dark blue card stock looks amazing!
