Hey everyone! How are you doing?
Some cards are not easy to make. But sometimes, they are needed. I’m talking about the much-rather-avoided Sympathy card. Sadly I had to make one of these recently, and it wasn’t easy. It needed to be masculine and tasteful. I ended up with this:
What do you think? Did I get it right? I hope so.
I started with a Rustic Cream cardstock panel and stamped it with Waltzingmouse Stamps’ Woodgrain set using Fine Linen ink.
I then added the leaves from Leaf Prints using Kraft ink for the leaves and SU! Soft Suede ink for the veins.
I splattered on some Mister Huey’s Calico White mist, then added the sentiment from Think Big Favourites #3. I then adhered the panel to a Fine Linen card base.
Just a quick showing of the inside – I cut a strip of Rustic Cream cardstock and stamped it with the sentiment from Healing Touch Sentiments using SU! Soft Suede ink. I let part of the strip fold and adhere over to the other side as I thought it brought a subtle touch of design. I don’t know if that is ‘okay’ for a sympathy card, but, there you go.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a happier card and a happier post I hope! Thanks so much for stopping by!
A beautiful card and (I think) just perfect for what you need. Great job. Mandee
I am seriously a little bit jealous of your Waltzingmouse collection. I have got to get me some more of that! I think you did a great job with this. It's soft, serene, and so pretty. I love the splatter you added.
