Hi everyone!! Happy Saturday!! God I love weekends, don’t you? ๐
I’m sorry this post is up a little later than usual. Hope you’ll forgive me as it was for a good reason… I made something new!!
I know! I’m shocked too!!
I’ve wanted to play along with the Runway Inspired Challenge for, like, forever. I never ever tried though. Kept waiting for the ‘right photograph’ ie one that looked like ‘I can do this’. And so nothing ever got made. I wasn’t getting the point of the whole challenge thing – to challenge myself.
Duh.
So today, I decided to finally bite the bullet and submit an entry. It might not be the best one out there, and I probably won’t win, but again, that’s not the whole point, is it? ๐
So before I get onto showing you my card, here’s the inspiration photo for us to play with, from the Cacharel line:
Beautiful and flowing huh? I love those teals and blues! They also go with my new blog colours! *wink*
And here’s my take on it:
I’m pretty pleased with how this card turned out! I captured all the movement, flow, colours and whimsical nature of it, at least to my satisfaction anyway. ๐
I started with a Stamper’s Select White card base and flicked some coloured mists on it. I had fun rooting through my stash and finding the perfect colours – Electric Blue Glimmer Mist, Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, and my new Heidi Swapp Tropicana Teal Colour Shine Mist! Serious love!!
I then die cut the Polaroid frame using the Fabulous Frames die. I used some Glitz Design patterned paper here, from the Hello Friend line. I then adhered the frame to the base using Pinflair Glue Gel.
Then it was time for the real fun to begin – accessorising!! I opted to use Becky Oehlers‘ Mistletoe Memories set (*gasp* it can be used for stuff other than mistletoe – I am so excited at this discovery!!) and stamped the leaves using A:Muse Ocean and Cobalt inks. I thought these were perfect matches for the beautiful leaves on the dress! I stamped all the leaves onto Stamper’s Select White cardstock and trimmed them out with scissors, then adhered them at different heights and arrangements using Pinflair Glue Gel.
I then decided to compliment and offset this with a few of the leaves from Modern Basics using the same colours.
For some finishing touches, I added the sentiment from Happy Trails, the branch from Mistletoe Memories, and some of the accents from Modern Basics, all using A:Muse Slate ink. And that was my little card completed and ready to face the world in her best outfit! ๐
I would love to know what you think of this creation. I really am so happy that I’ve broken my duck and entered something into the challenge. Who knows, I might even have another idea up my sleeve to submit a second entry! ๐ Have a great weekend everyone, and see you again soon!!
