Hey everyone! How are you doing?
Before I kick off with today’s post here’s another plea for votes for Gallery Idol. We’ve less than 24 hours to go and I really need your help to progress to the final! Please vote for me!! And if you already have, thank you so much!!!
Now, back to business!
Anyone who’s been visiting my blog lately might have noticed that I kinda have a thing for the neon trend lately, ha! Well, I’m back again with another creation!
It’s been killing me that there are no neon inkpads out there (though I hear that Hero Arts are bringing some out in July, swoon!) so when I was out shopping for supplies for my first Gallery Idol card I spotted and purchased some neon acrylic paint!
Here’s the result of my stamping with it:
Fun no? I love how funky and bright it is! You may need your shades, lol!
I started by die cutting the circles from Stamper’s Select White cardstock using the Trendy Tree Tops dies. I *love* this set!!
I then used a small amount of paint spread onto a spare sheet of acetate and inked my stamp with it directly. I had settled on using one of the circles from Trendy Tree Tops as I thought it would give a great image. It didn’t disappoint!!
After I’d stamped my circles in various colours I left them to dry. Acrylic paint is pretty fast drying so these were ready in no time! After they were dry I stamped my sentiments onto two of the circles using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I love how one of them is oriented vertically – very kooky!
All that was left to do was to mount them all onto a Stamper’s Select White card base using Pinflair Glue Gel. I adhered them all at different heights so there’s plenty of visual interest in this card!
Right at the last minute (as in, just before taking the photo!) I decided to round a corner. That was my final finishing touch and I think it sets off the design really well!
Thanks so much for stopping by – I’d love to hear what you think of this creation! Oh, and don’t forget to vote, lol!
Super cute! How's your mini coming along? 🙂
What a fun card – good to know that the Versafine will cure properly on acrylic paint. Hope you are having a great weekend. <3
This is so so pretty Taheerah. I love how you played along the Neon. Someone is going to be super lucky to get such beauty:)
This is so fun! Neon is not normally my thing, but I really like this!
I am always in awe of your talent!! I would totally avoid neon…but you have managed to make a fun, yet very sweet card (that is only mildly blinding!!??)
