Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday. :o)
I’m back to share with you a card that I created today. I know, creating *and* posting on the same day – unheard of! Hehe. I just really wanted to share this fun card I created today as it makes me think of Summer. Our clocks just went forward to British Summer Time and we’re having a lovely sunny day today. Can’t wait for it to get a little warmer!
Now, where was I? Ah yes, my card! Here it is:
Really fun huh? I played around a lot to get the look I wanted but I’m really pleased with the results!
I started with a Rustic Cream card base and adhered some BasicGrey Hello Luscious patterned paper. I just got this paper in the mail yesterday and knew I had to create with it ASAP! The paper is pretty bright so I toned it down by swiping and tapping it with CTMH Colonial White and Vanilla Cream inks. You probably can’t tell but I then built up a doily pattern using Delightful Doilies, stamped with CTMH Vanilla Cream.
Next I adhered the coloured lace. This lace was another find in my Grandmother’s stash that I had to have, and it was an antique cream colour to begin with. I coloured it by tapping it with my Hawaiian Shores and VintagTouch Chai inks, then spraying and scrunching with Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold. Since I got this stuff I can’t stop using it! When dry I adhered with Scor Tape.
I then die cut a piece of coaster board using the Tag Sale #3 die and tied a piece of gold ric rac ribbon (also from my Grandmother’s stash). I then stamped the ‘Well, hello there’ sentiment from Hello, Friend using CTMH Desert Sand. I die cut a doily using the Doily Details dies from Aqua Mist cardstock. I then tapped it with my Hawaiian Shores and VintageTouch Chai inks and sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mist.
I die cut a flower using the Friendly Flower die and stamped with the co-ordinating stamp from the Hello, Friend set using CTMH Parchment ink (at least I think it was that, can’t remember!). I adhered the flower and doily to the tag using Pinflair Glue Gel, adhered the tag to the base in the same way, then finished with some rhinestones, colouring the tiny rhinestones with my BG49 Copic to match the larger Hawaiian Shores ones.
And there you have it! I’d love to hear what you think of this beauty, but in the meantime I’m off to have my dinner! Bye for now!
Taheerah……This is so pretty! I also just received that BG paper and I am totally loving it. I love how you used the lace on the bottom. Very pretty!
Not only really fun, but stunning to boot! I adore your thoughtful placement of all the interesting element on your card…from the dainty cluster of three crystals and a wee one adjacent to the fabulous lace flounce…and that's just for starters! Golly do I love your creations. They are such a beautiful breath of fresh Spring air!
this is so pretty. the stamped doilies add a nice subtle touch. I love your dyed ribbon, it looks fantastic.
