Hello everyone, and Merry Christmas!
Today I’m sharing some cards that weren’t made for orders but were made for loved ones instead. There are two in this post and one more to follow in another post later!
The first one of these took a lot of inspiration from this wonderful card here. I CASEd the colour scheme as well as the use of Damask Designs on the base – just beautiful! I don’t usually CASE cards at all but this one just spoke to me so much!
I stamped the base with the largest damask from Damask Designs using Versamark ink. Before this I was sure to stamp the sentiment first using Ripe Avocado, just in case the Versamark created a bit of a resist.
The tree was stamped with Pure Poppy onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock, with the stump stamped in Dark Chocolate. I stamped the ornaments onto a separate piece using Scarlet Jewel ink, punched them out then added epoxy circles and adhered them to the tree.
I added a punched strip of Ripe Avocado cardstock onto which I stamped Background Basics: Text Style II using Versamark. I adhered this then added strips of Scor Tape horizontally and vertcially before sprinkling with Martha Stewart glitter. Finally I added three tiny rhinestones to the left of the sentiment and inked the edges with VintageTouch Chai to finish it off.
This second card uses the ever-cute Gingerbread Man from Holiday Button Bits. I stamped him on Rustic Cream cardstock using VersaMagic Sahara Sand and Gingerbread, with the latter dabbed on the edges and a little on the body to give a ‘cooked’ effect. I gave him one Pure Poppy and one Ripe Avocado button and used Cinnamon Stickles for his eyes and mouth, and White Liquid Pearls for his decoration. I sprinkled a small amount of Martha Stewart glitter onto the Liquid Pearls before dry.
I wanted to make him into a bauble so I cut a circle from Pure Poppy cardstock using Circle Nestabilities. I used the VintageTouch Tea Dye Duo and Versamark ink to ink the edges to give it a more 3D feel, then stamped the ‘Noel’ stamp from Signature Christmas repeatedly on the circle. I cut a scalloped circle from Ripe Avocado using Nestabilities and adhered that behind, before adding the Gingerbread Man on top.
I used the ‘ground’ stamp from Holiday Button Bits to act as the string and stamped it in Dark Chocolate. I added a strip of text using Background Basics: Text Style II in Vintage Cream before adhering the bauble on top. The sentiment is stamped in Ripe Avocado, the top right corner rounded and the edges inked with VintageTouch Chai.
Well I hope you’re enjoying your Christmas Day! I’ll be back later with one final post – then I’ll finally be able to move onto posting something other than Christmas cards!! I’d love to hear what you think of these last ones though, if you have time!
Yes I agree, so clever to use that stamp as a hanging string! These cards are so fun – Im totally case'ing them for next year! ;o>
