Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!

It may have slipped by without pomp and circumstance, but Uniko Studio had a release this month! Myself and the rest of the Design Team are making up for that today though with a special Release Blog Hop! You should have made your way here from Nicki’s blog but if not please feel free to start at the Uniko blog to hop away from the beginning!

And it is an extra special Release Hop indeed, as we get a chance to formally welcome our newest DT members – Gillian and N@ Ali! Don’t forget – all new release products are already available to purchase from Uniko Studio!!

Bev is kicking off the Hop over at the Uniko blog so be sure to head there and comment on all the DT posts for a chance to win an awesome prize!!

So, I have a couple of awesome cards to show you showcasing both of the new sets! Let’s get started!

First up – Background Builders: Vines. This set is definitely an uber-popular one! It is *so* versatile and you will see that on the Hop today in all the different ways the DT has used it! I opted for a watercolour look for my project! Love how this turned out!!

I started with a panel of Rustic White cardstock and stamped several of the flowers using Versamark ink then heat embossed with WOW! Clear Semi Dull embossing powder.

I spritzed heavily with a mix of water/Perfect Pearls then watercoloured with my new WPlus9 inks in Sweet Gelato, Sweet Nectar, Wild Mango and Lake House. Love how this came out!! I ironed off the embossing powder and adhered the panel to a card base, adding a die cut vellum butterfly die cut with the Bright Butterflies dies and spritzed with the same water/Perfect Pearls mix. I added a label maker sentiment, adhering all elements with Pinflair Glue Gel.

Next up, the next in the Flower Power Series – Flower Power #4!! This series of coordinating flowers and stems is so awesome, and the latest in the series is no exception!

Eek! I am so so *so* in love with this card!!

I started with a panel of Pure White cardstock and stamped the outline flower repeatedly across the entire panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink to form a mosaic-like pattern!! I am so thrilled with this!! I adhered the panel to my card base using Scor-Tape.

I stamped a sentiment from the PTI Wet Paint set using Versafine and Versamark, and heat embossed it with Filigree Black embossing powder before watercolouring again with some of my WPlus9 inks, then adhered to my panel using Pinflair. Such a statement card!!

So are you ready to hop?! The DT has put on an amazing spread of creations and you simply must check them out!! Make sure you also head back to the Uniko blog where Bev is kicking off the Hop and also giving a reveal of the sets – you definitely want to see these beauties in their entirety!! And just as a reminder – all products from this release are already available at Uniko Studio – so run, don’t walk! – over there to fill your baskets and own these sets for yourself!! – Make sure you comment on each of the blogs on your travels – there’s an *awesome* prize giveaway in it for you!! *wink*

  4. Fabulous cards! I love the watercolor look on the first card and the great background on the second one! Great use of that pretty and versatile outline flower stamp!

  5. OMG – these are stunning! I will have to 'borrow' the look of the first card – it is such a cool way to use the lovely background builder stamps 🙂

  6. Taheerah, these are both stunning. I love the watercolour look you have used in both. I have never embossed, water coloured and then ironed off, but this card has inspired me to give it a go!! You have used the stamps so creatively xxx

  7. Amazing! The label looks as if it's suspended in mid air on the first card and the background you created on the second is just so cool!

  8. Fantastic cards. Great CAS designs. I absolutely love how you used the flower power 4 to create that stunning background on your second card. What a totally clever way to use that stamp – very inspirational.

  9. The first card, every time I look at it, it looks as though the label is floating. Beautiful card. The second card, I can see why you love it. The effect is brilliant, perfect.
