Evening all!

I’m getting my entry for the latest Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge in nice and early this time!! Here is the *gorgeous* colour combo for this round:

I’d actually just been thinking about this as a colour combo and it magically appeared!! I created a card a while ago that used almost all the colours from this challenge here (just didn’t have Kraft in it) so obviously it was a sign!!

Anyway, because I’d had this combo in my head already my card came together pretty quickly. Here it is!

I have to hold my hands up and say that obviously I’ve drawn huge inspiration from Dawn McVey herself after seeing so many gorgeous cards with a mix of patterns and colours. Dawn if you’re reading I hope I’ve done you proud and you take it as a compliment!!

I had so much fun creating this card as well because I played with loads of sets! I started with a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock and die cut it with the third largest of my Mega Curved Rectangle Nestabilities. I then stamped Polka Dot Basics I (got II on my way in my latest order!!) using Versamark, sprinkled on some Stickum powder and heated with a heat gun before sprinkling on Kars Extra Fine Glitter. I’ve got Martha Stewart glitters on their way to me and will be interested to compare the two!! I inked the edges of the shape with Dark Chocolate ink.

I then die cut a piece of Bitty Dot Basics paper and trimmed after 1.5″. I repeated with a piece of New Leaf cardstock which had been stamped with Background Basics: Retro using Versamark (a spare piece from my previous card!) and adhered both to the main shape. I added a piece of Raspberry Fizz Topnotch Twill at the top of the paper layer to get a border between the two and also to give a more pleasing ratio of relative sizes.

Then I finally got to break out and ink up my Stocking Prints set! Boy is this gorgeous, and so cute too! I stamped the Damask stocking onto Vintage Cream cardstock using Raspberry Fizz ink and the cuff in New Leaf. I cut out the cuff and adhered with Pinflair Glue Gel for dimension, before cutting out the whole thing and gluing to the base using Pinflair again. The whole die was then adhered onto the Kraft base using Pinflair Glue Gel. I love how easy it is to create varying depth and height with that stuff!

Finally as some finishing touches I stamped the sentiment from Signature Christmas using Dark Chocolate ink, and added the stocking ‘hook’ in Dark Chocolate to the side as an accent, love how they co-ordinated so well together! The last thing I did was add a trio of buttons in varying sizes – one Vintage Cream, one New Leaf and one Raspberry Fizz glued onto New Leaf.

And there you have it! I should mention that this card also qualifies for the latest ‘A Passion for Papertrey’ challenge as well, which was to incorporate polka dots! I’m rather proud of this card actually, and I’d love to know what you think!!
